November 7, 2024 Meeting
Susan Hardwick delivered an inspiring reading about the value of time. She reminded us that every single minute is precious, urging us to be mindful of how we spend it. Unlike most things in life, time is one thing you can’t get back once it’s gone!
The entire executive board was present, except for Vurnie Kaye Barnett, who was missed.
We also welcomed two wonderful guest speakers from the Women’s Resource Center in Deland, Montana. They gave an engaging presentation about the vital services they offer to women in need. Since COVID, the demand for their support has skyrocketed.
Here in Madison County, this is the go-to place for help and protection if the need ever arises. The center relies heavily on government grants, covering 90% of their funding. To meet the growing demand, they depend on additional contributions. Exciting news: a special grantor is matching donations up to $15,000 through the end of December!
The Madison Valley Women’s Club (MVWC) will be contributing before the deadline to make sure our donation is doubled. After their visit with us, the speakers continued their presentation at the Madison Valley Library, where even more attendees came to learn about their incredible work.
Let’s spread the word and make a difference together!

December 5, 2024 Holiday Party
The holiday spirit was in full swing as 57 Members and 15 talented Fiddlers gathered for a festive celebration hosted by the MVWC board. Guests were treated to a delicious feast of ham with all the fixings, topped off with a mouthwatering cobbler dessert. The room buzzed with joy as the local Fiddler Students set the perfect mood, playing cheery holiday tunes.
The evening was brimming with fun as members exchanged thoughtful gifts, and lucky winners of the centerpiece drawing took home some festive table decor. Adding to the merriment, awards were handed out for the most elegantly dressed, funniest outfit, most festive attire, and even the best “Humbug” look—perfect for a little holiday humor.
The highlight of the lunch? The return of the traditional White Elephant! Ruth Hauri was the lucky finder this year, unearthing the quirky keepsake with a rich history. Originating from Nearly New years ago, this quirky little elephant has been a treasured (and mischievous) guest at the holiday party ever since!

🌼 Madison Valley Women’s Club – April 3, 2025 Meeting Recap 🌼
Spring may still be warming up, but things were buzzing at our April 3rd gathering!
We kicked things off with inspiration from Jan Beekman, who shared a heartfelt reading about weathering life’s turmoil and being a light for others—definitely a soul-hug moment. 💛
Our guest speaker, Lee Robinson, added some literary flair, reading original poems and reminding us how poetry captures the world around us and sparks emotion and ideas. Many tissues may or may not have been used—he was that good!
We also got a timely update on HB 260 and the Hospital District, giving us insight into important community healthcare developments. Thanks to our speaker for making policy feel a little less... dry.
In fabulous local news: Ennis High School students received a jaw-dropping $50,000 donation from Pearl Jam for the skate park! Rock on, kiddos—and thank you, Eddie Vedder & co.
Lunch was lovingly provided by our friends at the Senior Center, who spoiled us with sandwiches, salad, chips, and dessert. Let’s be real—it’s hard to focus when the brownies are that good.
And the excitement continued with new officer elections! Please join us in congratulating:
All in all, it was a meeting filled with inspiration, poetry, purpose, and just the right amount of dessert. See you next month, ladies!
